Preserving and enjoying wild and home grown foods

This new course is all about enjoying and preserving the fruits of our labours. With a relaxed atmosphere we will prepare fish and hams for smoking. We will make jerky on the fire and in a dehydrator. We will pickle eggs and vegetables and make a chutney for your cheese all to be canned for long term storage. The chutney is at its best after 6 months!! We will sample and make sourdough bread and hardtack by the fire. Last but not least in the evenings we can try our hand at some brewing and winemaking. Samples of everything that you are making will be available for you to try.

It will be a foodie and relaxed social experience outside. Feel free to bring your own produce for canning or making jerky.

We have an outdoor kitchen with a roof for us to prepare all the recipes under and most things will be prepared outside. You will be going home with some of your produce to enjoy at your leisure. Accommodation is available in our glamping bell tents. Camping is also possible if you wish to spend the evenings enjoying the beer and the fire.

We are hoping to have our earth built oven finished so there might have to be a pizza night!
