The whole course is taught out in the woods living in shelters, cooking over fires and learning the ways of the woods.

Leaning back eating a warm meal with a freshly baked loaf of bread looking at your shelter. The fire flickering in front of you as you prepare for a moonlit night of sleep. Bushcraft is about making the woods your home. To do this we learn the best firewood, shelters, the plants, animals and the list forever goes on. We learn how to use them for cordage, shelter, friction fire, weaving, pack frames and so on. Bushcraft is a lifelong subject of continual learning.

This is purely a bushcraft course where there is minimal use of modern equipment except for the basics. This is a great challenge and will hone your knife, axe and saw skills. You will get to build and live in your shelter and light your fires with flint and steel. We will show you different techniques on how to cook over a fire.

This course is designed to give all participants the fundamental skills and knowledge base to get started in the woods. It is a more in depth knowledge and skills based course than the weekend taster or the survival courses. It gives a good grounding in all the areas; Axe and knife craft, Fire, Shelter, Water and Food, Trapping. If you are looking for an immersion and real woods life experience this is the one to go with.

Experience

This course needs no prior experience and many tools are provided. Having said that it is always better to learn and get familiar with your own equipment. For that reason we encourage you to bring your own.
