Tracks and Hides: Holistic Hunting

  • Remians

This is everything that the CORE hunters and Firearms courses can’t teach you… No prerequisites required.

Under the guidance of Andrew of, we will explore principles and best practices for an ethical harvest. You will be shown how to prepare for a hunt, process the meat, and make use of all of the parts of the Whitetail Deer, including the process of making buckskin! The village setting will allow for an immersive experience interwoven with stories, songs and embodied explorations.

This is not a guided hunt. It’s what comes “before” and what happens “after”. The perfect opportunity to build on your skills, define what it means for you to be a “hunter”, and be confident on your next trip!

What you will learn:

  • A discussion around ethics and Animal behavior and tracking
    Gear and camouflage
    Improvised tools and traditional weapons
Online and “in the field” scouting
    Field dressing and processing hides
The journey of “becoming a hunter” and building resilience
Opportunity for personal development and community building

Ready to reconnect with nature and deepen your relationship with the wild?

Join us for a 3-day front country bushcamp immersion that blends hands-on wilderness skills, traditional knowledge, and personal discovery—culminating in a communal feast that honors the land, the animals, and the cycles that sustain us.

Led by Andrew Crawford-White of Backwoods Bushcraft and Andrea Fox of Elemental Journeys, explore what it means to “hunt”, whether you are interested in the art of tracking, a photograph or an amateur hunter. There are no prerequisites—just curiosity, openness, and a willingness to engage in the full journey of wilderness awareness.

This is not a hunt—it’s a return. A journey through the sacred thresholds of “before” and “after,” where we learn to honor the animal not just in death, but in every step leading up to and beyond the harvest.

What Makes This Unique:

Unlike other hunting courses, Tracks & Hide offers a village-based, hands-on experience rooted in deep connection to land and lineage. We’ll explore not just the technical, but the spiritual and emotional dimensions of hunting—walking between the worlds of science, skill, and soul.

Whether you’re preparing for your first hunt or seeking to enrich your current practice, this is a space to grow your confidence, build your skills, and remember the deeper why behind the harvest.

What is included:
-Camping with facilities
-Processed meat & hide
-A hunting call (to bring home)
-A wild-inspired feast to close the journey

This Experience is For You If:

You crave a more meaningful, ethical approach to harvesting animals

This is more than a workshop—it’s a rite of passage.
Come learn, unlearn, and return to what is essential.
